Guitar Tapping Workshop: November 8th 2009

Nov 8th Workshop: 2-4 PM

An introduction to Tapping and Alternate Tunings for the Acoustic Guitar
Sunday November 8th High Strung Music, Durham NC

Guitarist Greg Merkle will walk through the history and evolution of the technique known as Tapping. Tapping, combined with alternate tunings can really extend the range of the guitar adding more complex chord voicing and a very percussive edge to your technique.

The goal of this course is to show guitarists how are curious about or who want to learn how tapping works and how to include it in their repertoire. Greg will teach you how to train your hands and your fingers with some basic exercises that will get you started.

From bluegrass to jazz, folk to funk and many points in between, this technique will add an interesting twist to your playing.

Requirements:
You will need to be an intermediate to advanced player…
You will need your guitar, your brain and perhaps some ice for your fingertips… (just kidding).

For More Info and registration: High Strung Music, Durham, NC
